Once more it is Sunday evening and I am wondering where the weekend went …… even more so this weekend as I had Friday off as Kate had yet another birthday !!!
So Friday was spent having an early morning dash to Evesham to look at a horticultural suppliers and purchasing some punnets and then opening the shop at 12.30 and I was off doing the Droitwich egg round at 5pm.
I am getting to really enjoy the egg round … it is a little pressurised sometimes with getting home from work but I do like finding out what has been happening to our customers during the week and finding out …. who has green fingers and can grow fabulous hanging baskets…. who has killed their lawn ….. holiday plans and adventures and of course very topical now … barbecue plans 🙂
I then met up with Kate in the pub for a few birthday beers !
So yesterday was all about opening the shop and having a good old mow around the trees before we went for a family barbecue as Ian my brother in law was celebrating his birthday as well as Kate. So we had a lovely relaxing time see family and feeling a little middle aged! My aren't the children growing into nice people!
So today more mowing and catching a few rays and Kate is cooking a roast for tea 🙂 We have grown a few chicken for us …… the legality of growing and selling chicken is crazy .. so we only do them for us but they are a nice change once in a while when we have had our fill of pork and lamb!
So the week ahead look like being a good one .. although the weather is questionable after tomorrow. I will get back on the tractor after work tomorrow and mow some more. We have some mutton and some hogget coming back from the butchers tomorrow so Kate will be busy packing up orders and it is only 2 weeks to Droitwich food festival so it is all systems go!!!!
Added to which we have been invited to the Food Festival meal at the St Andrews Hotel in Droitwich as we are providing the pork…… it is an evening do and and the Mayor will be there as well as the great and the foodie good …… what on earth are we going to wear !!!!! A little black pig tee shirt and black jeans wont do I guess !!
We are also planning on getting the sheep sheared next Sunday.
